Course Description

This course deals with globalization and overseas activities of enterprises, mainly Japanese ones. It aims to help students understand the political and economic environment of foreign countries in which enterprises intend to operate. In the classes each participant is expected to prepare reports and make presentations and discuss the topics. Professionals with international career are invited to share their views and experiences as guest lecturers.

The course covers,
a) Political and economic environment of the countries where multinational enterprises (“MNE”) operate, focusing on emerging countries or areas like Asia and
b) MNEs from Japan or foreign countries, their business conditions and overseas operations.

Considering interests and discussions of participants the topics to be covered may be adjusted.
