A research reading seminar examining historical issues of Japan. This course examines Japan's foreign policy from the World War Ⅰ to the World War Ⅱ. Students will also learn why Japan went to war with the United States. The primary goal of this course is to learn that there are a variety of views on history. Secondly, students will learn that it is not easy for people of different nation-states to share a common historical view. The third goal is to learn that people can be reconciled when they honestly look at their history.
