Course Description

The aim of this class is to conduct research in folklore (fieldwork, literature review) and solve problems based on one's own interests based on research methods in folklore (comparative research, regional research, etc.).In the second semester, students will individually set and present their own issues based on the group work in the first semester.
Students will learn the sequence of steps (1) to (3) below, and learn how to work on research spontaneously and how to make the most of discussions.
(1) Set an issue and make an effective plan to solve it.
(2) Collect previous research on the issue.
(3) Compile materials based on fieldwork and literature research, and present the results of your study.
At the end of the semester, students will submit a report on the content of their presentation, taking into account comments from others.
