Course Description

This course deals with the legal history of Japan to students taking this course.
The purpose of this lecture is to acquire an overview of Japanese legal history from ancient times to the early modern period on the source of law, criminal law, commercial law, family law, and the judicial system, and to understand the basic knowledge of the legal history of Japan.
