Course Description

What is the meaning of a fair tax system? What role does the social security system play in society? What leads to the growth of public debt? In this course, we examine characteristics of Japanese society as well as of foreign countries through a study of public finance.
The course is structured as follows: in the first classes of each topic, students are provided with the topic's fundamentals. Following the introductory lectures, detailed topics will be examined, and students are expected to participate in classes through presentations and discussions.
