Course Description

The Japanese economy has currently stagnated for more than 20 years and the management systems of Japanese companies, which supported its economic success before, are required to reform to fit for the current domestic and world economic environments. It is widely known that the causes of economic stagnation in Japan are deep-rooted in its various economic systems and institutions. The main purpose of this lecture is for students to understand what sorts of economic issues Japan has in its systems and institutions, and examine the direction of reforms for the future.
