Course Description

Social systems such as marriage procedures, nursing care insurance systems and prefectural systems are one of the essential study subjects in sociology. However, I feel attempts to deal squarely with general social systems are decreasing — probably because the focus of sociology has shifted to a microscopic viewpoint and refined cultural awareness in recent years.
While paying respect to previous achievements in sociology, this lecture aims at discussing concepts and models utilized in close areas of study, and establishing an effective sociological approach to systems in general. Furthermore, we will apply this approach to various aspects of reality in an effort to resolve issues in modern society.
