Course Description

 English, a universal language, is vital for understanding the world's political and economic situation. Because government agencies, media, and businesses in many countries across the globe, including Japan, transmit information in English. Therefore, this class aims to help students understand the political economy of Japan and the world through reading newspapers, magazines, and other English news sources.
 Background knowledge and familiarity with English used in the field of political economy are necessary to understand the political and economic situation in English. Therefore, this class will start with relatively easy-to-read text about Japan and gradually move on to more complex ones.
