授業の概要（ねらい）

英語でプレゼンテーションを行うための基礎訓練を行う授業である。効果的なプレゼンテーションを行うためのトピックの選び方、全体の構成の仕方、有用な英語表現と身体表現などを学ぶ。プレゼンテーションの理論を学んだ上で、さらに、実践を通して多様な表現技術を習得する。複数回の英語のプレゼンテーションを課すほか、授業内容に関する小テストも行い、知識の定着と語彙力のアップもはかる。
The purpose of this course is to help students plan, compose, and deliver an effective presentation in English. Students will be guided through the process of selecting a suitable topic, considering useful language for the topic, brainstorming ideas for interesting contents, organizing the ideas into an outline, adding impact with a strong introduction and conclusion, and enhancing the presentation with relevant physical and verbal techniques. During the course, students are required to show their understanding by taking short tests and to demonstrate their proficiency as well as by giving presentations in English.

The aim of this course is to enable you to:
1. structure the content of a presentation in a logical sequence
2. use effective techniques for delivering a presentation in English
3. evaluate a presentation according to objective criteria

成績評価の方法および基準

積極的な授業参加（30％）、プレゼンテーション（70％）で総合的に評価する。
Your final grade will be based on the following:
Attendance, Participation and Preparedness (30%) and Presentation (70%)

準備学修の内容

予習・復習は必須。予習をしている前提で授業を進める。
Latecomers will not be allowed to attend the class. Students are expected to come to class fully prepared.

正しい語感を損なわせるという理由から、「Google翻訳」等のオンライン翻訳サイトの使用厳禁。自然な語感を身につけるために、英和辞典よりも「英英辞典」の使用を推奨する。
In order to learn correct, natural, real English, you must avoid using online translation services such as Google Translate. You are strongly recommended to use an English-English (rather than English-Japanese) dictionary.
