この講義は英語で行います。
The English title of this class is "Asian Economy IV" and the taught language of this class is English.
The contemporary Asian economies had been characterized by their dynamic growth, diversity in the growth performances, and deepening economic integration. However, recent Asia came to face various new issues such as dominance of Chinese economy and receding Japanese economy, emergence of India and expected emergence of Indonesia, worsening income inequality in every country, aging society and environmental problem and so forth. The world economy is also facing the changing currents represented by "America's first", BRI of China, and Brexit. They all give impacts to Asian economy.
This class aims to understand up-to-date overview of the Asian economies applying the desciplines of development economics and international economics.
The first 30 minutes of each class will be used for the presentation and discussion of the news on Asian economy by two students. Participation in the class discussion will be highly welcomed.
①Students will be able to explain the features of Asian economies in the world and the development mechanism of the Asian economies.
②Students will be able to give appropriate comments on most of the economic news on Asia.
Active participation in the class 20%, mid-term exam 30%, final exam 50%.
