授業の概要（ねらい）

We will analyse and translate together one entire film (ensemble cast, approximately 150 minutes) and make our own Japanese version of the script. During the autumn semester, we will work on the second half of the film.
In each class, we will be……
- watching approximately five minutes of the film
- dictating and shadowing the five-minute clip
- translating the clip into Japanese
- discussing & analysing the clip in groups
- presenting the outcome in front of the class
- choosing the best possible translation as a class
- voice-overing the clip in Japanese

授業の到達目標

We will make our own version of the Japanese script.

成績評価の方法および基準

Class Performance 70%, Test 30%

準備学修の内容

Memorise all important phrases we covered in class and think of other situations in which we can use them.

その他履修上の注意事項

This class is conducted in English. Except for special reasons, you need to attend all classes punctually and regularly. Missing more than one third of the total number of classes will result in a failing grade for the course. Also, two late arrivals are considered one absence. If you are late for more than 15 minutes, you will be considered “absent” for the class. Attendance is taken from the first class.
