This course covers a comprehensive view of all major aspects of the Japanese economy including historical background, growth and business cycles and essential policy issues like the financial regulation, monetary policy and fiscal policy among the Japanese banking crisis of 1997-1998, the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 and the Lost Two Decades.
You are expected to improve your capability to read and understand the articles in the journals on Japanese Economy to understand her current situation and problems.
You are evaluated by the result of examination (80%) and your participation in discussions (20%) at lectures.
