This course aims to analyze the history of modern Japanese literature by focusing on his developments and transformations. Students can expect to go out of this class with a better understanding of the history background of each text while also gain a deeper understanding of the evolution of modern to contemporary style of writing.
Enjoy modern Japanese literature classics in English.

Students are required to finish reading assignments before class and prepare for the class discussion.
