授業の概要（ねらい）

This English class will focus on the fundamental techniques and skills needed to become a confident and effective public speaker. A variety of activities including warm-up exercises, role-playing, and simulations will be utilized. Speech topics will be based on students’ interests. This class is the basis for video projects in autumn.

This English class is taught through a focus on situational speaking. Classes will focus on learning a variety of specific public speaking skills that can be applied to a wide range of situations. This class is the basis for the video projects in autumn.Students will develop speaking skills and confidence to express themselves in front of groups in English. Students will undertake individual writing projects and prepare scripts for their presentations. There will be both individual and group projects. Students will reach the stage at which they can effectively complete a 5-minute presentation.

Students are expected to be active in class, prepare research outside of class, and voice opinions in class. Homework is a must. Coming to class is a must. Coming to class on time is a must. Participation and willingness to speak in front of your classmates is a must. Dictionaries and notebooks are musts. A strict attendance policy will be observed.
