授業の概要（ねらい）

The purpose of this class is to deepen students' understanding of Asian economic history, especially from the perspective of westernization and modernization. We will also review the modern history of Asia referring to the study of "developing economics" such as works by Amartya Sen. We will decide the details of the class after the first and the second meeting. So, the class schedule below is a temporary one.

We aim to get the basic knowledge about Asian economic history from the viewpoint of westernization and modernization. We also try to understand the basic knowledge of world history and the meaning of globalization.

Class participation including presentation and discussion - 50%
Term Report - 50%

準備学修の内容

Reading materials will be distributed to the students in class. Students must read assigned chapter(s) of the textbook in advance .
Students write reports and make presentation in class.
