授業の概要（ねらい）

この授業は、戦後日本の政治制度について学ぶ入門コースです。具体的には、他国の政治制度と比較しながら、日本の歴史的背景、および憲法上の側面についての基礎思想を説明します。これにより、現在の動向を理解および評価することができます。この授業では、民主主義と政治制度に関する思想、日本の政治情勢、選挙、議会、首相と内閣、省庁と官僚、政党制、利害関係者団体、企業団体、メディア、市民社会、様々な政策などの政治分野を明らかにします。この授業は、入門講義とグループワークやディスカッションなどで構成されています。学期末に筆記試験を行い、修了とします。

Teaching language: English (spring semester) // Japanese (autumn semester)

This class is an introductory course to the political system of postwar Japan. Specifically, the course will explain the historical background and the basic ideas of the political system, comparing it with other countries. This enables students to understand and evaluate current trends. The class covers the following political topics: democracy and political institutions, the political situation in Japan, elections, parliament, the prime minister and cabinet, ministries and bureaucracy, the party system, interest groups, business organizations, the media, civil society, and various policies. This class consists of introductory lectures, group work, presentations and discussions. A written exam completes the course at the end of the semester.

授業の到達目標

政治制度が対象とするテーマは多様であるが、基本的な知識を習得して深めることを目指す。政治学に関連する専門用語、思想、枠組み、活動と政策を理解する。政治学という分野に関するグループワークなどを行う。

This course aims at acquiring and deepening basic knowledge on political systems, esp. in Japan as well as at understanding basic terminology and ideas, institutions, processes and policies related to political science. Group work and other activities is part of the course.

成績評価の方法および基準

期末テスト（60％）を行います。出席などクラス参加（20％）や発表（20％）も加味することがあります。なお日程は講義の進み具合によって、下記の授業計画通りにならないことがあります。

There will be a final exam at the end of the course. In addition, regular attendance and active participation are taken into account during the course, too. The final exam (70%) , regular attendance, active participation (20%) and presentation or alike (20%) will result jointly in the final grade. Depending on the course progress, there may occur changes to course plan below.

準備学修の内容

授業で触れたテーマについて、参考文献や関連するウェブサイトで理解を深めることを求めます。指定する文献がある場合にはそれをあらかじめ読み、そこにわからない言葉があるときにはその用語を調べ、与えた課題について自分の意見をまとめるなどの準備を行うこと。

To deepen your understanding of the themes mentioned in the course, it is necessary to read the provided literature in advance and to refer to related websites. Please search any unknown terminology by yourself and summarize your insights and opinion on each course topic given.

その他履修上の注意事項

出席は必須です。それぞれの専門領域に関する知識を深めるためには、授業への積極的な参加が必要になります。

Attendance is mandatory. In order to deepen the knowledge of each specialized area, it is required to actively participate during the course.
