Course Description

One of the missions of the Department of Regional Economics is to produce human resources who can contribute to regional revitalization. When revitalizing a region, at first, it will be necessary to understand the current situation in the target region. And more, "Introductory Economics" has dealt with introductory content of economic theory in modern economics. However, economic analysis includes not only theoretical analysis but also empirical analysis (analysis aimed at verifying the theory and discovering rules that have not yet been theorized). This course will cover introductory content on the techniques of handling quantitative data used to understand the current situation in the target region and perform empirical analysis. The method of analyzing quantitative data is based on statistics, so this course will cover an introductory subject of statistics.
