Course Description

Germany is the center of the EU economy and famous for rows of houses in towns, beautiful scenery, music, literature and philosophy. In this lecture, we will read some essays in German while reviewing German grammar. The purpose of this course is that you can read standard-level German sentences by your self with dictionary.
This course is designed to achieve educational goals 1, 2, and 3 of General Basic Subjects.

Course Objectives

・Students can read German sentences. (Skill)
・Students can communicate in German, such as greetings and self-introductions. (Skill)
・Students can write simple sentences in German. (Skill)
・Students can understand everyday German conversation. (Skill)
・Students can understand elementary German grammar. (Knowledge / Understanding)

Grading Policy

・Charging of translation: 60%, mini exams: 40%
・I will provide feedback on charging of translation and the mini-exams.

Requirements(Assignments)

・As a preparation, check the grammar and meaning of words in the next lecture and take a note of them. (60 minutes)
・As a review, check the grammar and words, and write down the exercises that you give the wrong answer. Also, practice pronunciation and listening using the audio of the text. (Half an hour)

Note

It is recommended to attend the course of “German 1,” “German 2,” and “German 3”.
