Course Description

In this lecture, we discuss the relationship between science and society. We will also focus on the negative aspects of science and technology. It is necessary to capture science as a part of society.

In the first half of the lecture, we will outline the history of the development of science, overlook current cutting-edge science, and look at "the future of science" through discussions with students.
In the second half, we will focus on the problem of scientific communication and introduce techniques to convey science and technology to society.

Course Objectives

The students understand the history of the development of science and technology, acquire a "scientific" way of thinking, acquire the ability to see science critically, acquire “scientific literacy”, and acquire the skill to summarize their opinions and talk about them.

Grading Policy

We will evaluate with 2 report assignments (50%), after lesson reaction paper (40%), attitude and attendance (10%).
The report will be evaluated whether it is copied from somewhere and also answers to questions using their own opinion. I will return the report in class.
