Course Description

Objectives of the Period for Integrated Studies are to enable junior and senior high students to think in their own way about life through cross-synthetic studies and inquiry studies, while fostering the qualities and abilities needed to find their own tasks, to make proactive decisions and to solve problems better.
Extra-curricular Activities are also important learning for junior and senior high students to develop their own personalities and social skills through the activities of the classroom, student’s association, and school events.
In this course, you will learn the objective, the basic theory, the practical teaching methods and the evaluation.

Course Objectives

(1) Understand the educational significance, goals, curriculum position, and activity content of the Period for Integrated Studies.
(2) Understand the importance of creating an annual instruction plan for the Period for Integrated Studies, examples of instruction, and points to be noted in instruction while trying to relate to each subject.
(3) Understand the importance and concrete examples of realizing proactive, interactive and deep learning through the time of the Period for Integrated Studies.
(4) Understand the learning process and teaching method to realize inquiry learning in the time of the Period for Integrated Studies, grasp the learning situation of students, and understand the evaluation method and points to keep in mind to improve teaching. doing.
(5) Understand the educational significance and goals of extracurricular activities, their position in the curriculum, and the content of activities.
(6) Positioning extracurricular activities as an educational course, and understanding the importance of creating an annual instruction plan in relation to each subject and points to be noted in instruction.
(7) Understand the educational significance and characteristics of class activities / homeroom activities, student organization activities, and school events, and understand the ideal way of teaching that makes the best use of the characteristics.
(8) Understand specific examples of guidance and group activities that lead to discussion activities and decision-making in extracurricular activities, and also understand the importance of evaluation to improve guidance.
(9) Understand the importance of cooperation with households / local residents and related organizations in extracurricular activities.

Grading Policy

Comprehensive evaluation will be made based on the status of participation in classes such as group activities, submission of assignment reports (50%), and final exams (50%).
