Course Description

This course will cover some of the fundamental theories and concepts of urban sociology. What are the differences between urban life and rural life? What social problems will be encountered in the city? And what influence will the high population density of the city have on urban dwellers? We shall consider such problems from a sociological perspective.

Course Objectives

After completing this course, the students will be able to ponder on the nature of urban life and urban social structure from a sociological perspective.
