Course Description

One of the most significant roles of museums is to keep their materials in safe and to preserve them in good condition sustainably.In this lecture, we will develop basic knowledge which curators at museums must know: controlling light, temperature, humidity, and avoiding insect pest, mold, and air pollution to preserve their materials.The class will also provide insights for preservation of various types of materials: fine arts, crafts, old books and documents, materials of natural history, and even living materials.
