Course Description

This lecture aims to comprehend the law and institutions of the European Union (EU). While “EU Law I” gives an overview of the history, competence, decision-making and judicial system of the EU, this lecture takes a closer look at how EU works in specific contexts. The topics include, e.g., the “four freedoms” (free movement of goods, services, capital, and people), external relations, criminal cooperation, and fundamental rights protection.
