Course Description

In this class, I will focus on the hunting and fishing activities of the Yayoi period. In general, it is recognized that the Yayoi period is an agricultural society, and a main subsistence is changed from hunter-gatherer to agriculture in paddy field. Basically, this recognition is not mistaken, but archaeological researches concentrated too much on the cultivation of rice in the Yayoi period. In this class, I will discuss the hunting and fishing activities of the Yayoi period.
