Course Description

In this class, it will be explained the use of metalware in human history and the development of production technologies based on archaeological materials. Specifically, I will talk about the emergence and development of bronze ware on China, the start of usage of iron ware, and explain how China's bronze ware and iron ware culture spread to the surrounding areas of East Asia. In addition, I will discuss on the acceptance of bronze and iron ware in the Japanese archipelago.
