Course Description

Criminal psychology is the study of crime and delinquency (antisocial behavior). Although originally a discipline of criminology, advancements in the science of psychology have brought it under the umbrella of applied psychology.
Rather than a foundational theory of the criminal mind, this course focuses on the basic knowledge necessary in the study of criminal psychology. Topics from various fields will be discussed, including historical developments in research and related theories, analysis of crime statistics, and treatment of juvenile delinquents.
