Course Description

This course concentrates on exchanges, cultural and otherwise, between Japan and the rest of the world in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Much attention will be paid to diplomatic relations and cultural exchanges. The autumn semester covers the period from the end of the First World War to the present
