To view new forms of civilization today, we must have an insight into living creatures and nature, and relativize the ideas of civilization after modern times that tend to be human-centered. In this lecture, we will explore the special space-time of living things, guided by oriental zodiac animals. Then, we analyze Japanese myths, stories, folklore, and religions, including the effects of science and technology, and consider the problems of modern civilization.
