Course Description

We use smartphones and watches to check the time, but we also notice time changes from nature and creatures, such as river flows and flowering flowers. Now that attention has been paid to artificial intelligence (AI), what kind of features can humans grasp the world by themselves that cannot be imitated by machines?
In this lecture, we learn from the world's thinkers, from Kitaro Nishida, Soseki Natsume, Kumagusu Minamikata to Michael Ende, Heidegger, Einstein, Levi-Strauss, Aristotle, Eliade, and Wittgenstein. And we will find the time of nature, the time of life peculiar to living things, the time of culture peculiar to people, and rediscover the rich world of life and culture.
