Course Description

This course is an introduction to modern Japanese international relations. The primary aim of this lecture is to provide students with a general but solid knowledge of international system in East Asia, Japan's foreign policy from Meiji era to present. Particular focus will be placed on: a western impact on East Asian world; and Japan’s development into a modern nation-state. This lecture will be taught and assessed in Japanese.
