Course Description

Budo (Japanese martial ways) is traditional physical culture in Japan that originates from combat of Bushi (warrior). It is not only the issues of facing with opponents but also the idea of cultivation for one’s own mind. Therefore, Budo reflects Japanese cultural features and includes educational meaning. In this course, we follow the historical transition of Budo and learning its cultural traits.
