Course Description

We tend to consider "region" · "district" often as clear space bounded by boundary. However, the actual "area" is not necessarily fixed, it is artificially created as well. In this lecture, we will learn about the process of formation of regional concepts and its effects by looking at the history of the “Independent Lolo”area in Republic of China era, and its influence, and aim to acquire new perspectives on "the periphery" ·"local".
