Course Description

In order to conduct research beyond a master's degree, you need to have knowledge about your area of specialization and another area of specialization. We cannot discuss expertise without a comparative perspective. This is an important requirement for graduate students majoring in Japanese history and cultural properties. This course aims to cultivate an understanding of world history from the perspective of civil war, through the perusal of David Armitage 'World history of <civil war>' (Iwanami Shoten).
