Course Description

An introduction to " development cooperation " with a focus on "Official Development Assistance(ODA)". Course covers basics of the subject such as international development regime and overview of development theory. Japan's ODA is examined with my own experience as a Foreign Ministry official. Furthermore, two guest speakers will speak about their field activities. If you are interested in today's world, it is essential for you to understand reality of developing countries and their challenges as well as response of the international community.
Evaluation is based on attendance plus reaction paper submission in each session(50%) and result of term-end exam(50%).
