Course Description

Course focuses on historical overview of Japan's relations with Asia since the Japanese empire period. Japan's external policies in the post-war era are studied with my professional experience. Current issues such as Asia's economic interdependence and regional integration, geopolitical transformation caused by the rise of China as well as US-china relations are also examined. Importance is given to bilateral relations with China and Korea, including "history issues".
Evaluation is based on attendance + reaction paper submission in each time(50%) and term-end exam(50%).
