Course Description

This course aim is to make the foundations to learn economics of an upper course. In this course, you will learn the following elemental ideas. Basics of finance and financial policy, the history of Japanese economy [1945-2008, reconstruction, economic growth, the dollar shock, the oil shock, the bubble economy, the Heisei recession], the characteristics of Japanese economy [industrial structure, resources, energy, environments, prices, labor, social securities, etc.] and the basics of international economy [foreign trade, foreign exchange, the balance of payments, international economic organizations, economy of developing countries, global environment, etc.].
