Course Description

The subject of this seminar is economy and firm in Europe during the 20th century. Particularly following topics will be treated: Evolution of ideas of European economic integration from the end of the 19th century to the Second World War, integration policy in the UK, France and Germany after the war, birth and evolution of ECSC/EEC/EC/EU, the monetary integration and the introduction of Euro, the Euro crisis, and current status and issues of the EU. Furthermore, students should individually make presentations on the EU economy.
