Commencing with a classroom lessons, every educational practice consists of various methods which are “seen but unnoticed.” EMCA is the standpoint which seeks to elucidate these unnoticed methods through detailed data examination of practices and whereby seeks to provide practitioners fruitful resources of their reflection.
Students (1) learn how is studying educational practices from the standpoint of EMCA through reading Japanese literatures, (2) review outputs of EMCA studies critically, and finally (3) examine actual data of educational practices analytically.
