Course Description

A research reading seminar examing historical issues of Japan. Students will learn why Japan went to war with the United States. The primary goal of this course is to learn that there are a variety of views on history. Secondly,students will learn that it is not easy for people of different nation-states to share a common hisotrical view. The third goal is to learn that people can be reconciled when they honestly look at their history.
