Course Description

This course will explore the relationship between time and the development of people. There are two different direction in this relationship such as the influence of time on people, and the influence of people on time. From the former point of view, the changing "mind" with the passage of time has been explored in the field of developmental psychology. On the other hand, from the latter point of view, the active "mind"of the people who tries to control time has been explored.
In this class, we will consider that people are affected by society and history as an open system, and that the development of people is the development of society and history itself. This socio-historical aspect of the people will be considered through the examination of the family, autobiographical memory, and time concenpts of people with ASD . Each student will be required to work in readings, participate in constructive discussion, and submit summary reports.
