Course Description

Following development studies in the previous semester, the course offers an interdisciplinary perspective on vital themes today such as international conflict, poverty, global refugee crisis, climate change as well as the contested nature of trade in relation to the globalization. The latter part of the course explores the role played by non-state actors such as international NGOs in global policy formation, focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A special lecture is to be given by an international organization official.
Evaluation method: regular performance(attendance, review test) (60%) and term-end exam(40%).
