Course Description

The first half of this course treats fine arts of Florence in the context of patronage and power politics of the Medici and Pope in the 15th and 16th centuries. The second half treats the most important thinkers from the Renaissance to the Glorious Revolution in their political background, and end with the Nazism, focusing on the reason why the contemporary Germans supported Hitler.
