Course Description

In this class, we study about the thought of the ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius孔子 through reading Lun-yu論語. Since the Asuka飛鳥 period, Confucianism thought have had an important influence on Japanese culture. For example, the phrase "don't let people do what you don't like" and the Seventeen-Article Constitution十七条の憲法 "to be precious with harmony" are actually from the sayings of Lun-yu by Japanese people in the past. Studying Lun-yu will has a positive effort on your life.
