Course Description

This course builds upon the discussions and concepts covered in the previous semester. Through the lens of American conservatism, it explores in more detail the current state of relations between the US and the world. Issues such as the global competition of public diplomacy within the US, growing social and cultural cleavages in American society, and the future of democracy will be discussed. At the end of the semester, the class will shift to focus on assessing the first-year of the Biden administration, examining, in particular, the success of its policy in healing scars both domestically and internationally. The class will also discuss the 2022 US midterm elections.
