Course Description

This course explores different understanding about the nature of the societies in the West and Japan. Specifically, it focuses on the key liberal ideas including autonomy as well as amae, which has become the key concept to understand Japanese psychology. While this course examines the origin of these concepts, it provides an opportunity to rethink deeply about today’s societies we are living in.
