Course Description

There are performing arts carry on by local people in various parts of Japan. These performing arts are called "folkloric performing arts" in the study of traditions and the study of performing arts.In this class, based on the research history of folkloric performing arts,and learn basic knowledge about what kind of people are performing in what kind of area.In addition, we will consider various problems that occur in performing folkloric performing arts and passing them on to the next generation, and think about the meaning of handing down folkloric performing arts in modern society.In the spring class, after learning the basic knowledge of folkloric performing arts, the current state of folkloric performing arts will be taken up so that students can understand the issues.
