Course Description

We will survey the major approaches and methods in language teaching such as Audiolingualism, Communicative Language Teaching, Task Based Language Teaching and others. We will compare and contrast different teaching methods to help new teachers explore their own beliefs and practices in language teaching. The pace of the class will be adjusted to the level of the students and frequent in-class review and discussions will help students in their understanding of the content. This class consists of lectures, discussions and presentations.
