Course Description

Social psychological research on intrapersonal processes dealing with the self and emotions, and interpersonal processes dealing with interpersonal relationships, is a central interest in social psychology. But where do these feelings, cognitions, and behaviors come from? Why do we have the minds we have today? Why are the minds of each of us not the same? And what does it mean for different people to live equally in a society? In this lecture, we will examine the "why" of human social behavior from the perspective of adaptation, and from the macro perspective of culture and evolution.
