Course Description

The instructor of this course was an editorial writer of the Yomiuri Shimbun. This course aims to learn the interaction between media and politics in a democratic system which is depneding on the media for legitimizing power. Topics include freedom of press, coverage of interview sources and history of Japanese media after the Second World War. Students are expected to pay attention to the daily news reports in the newspapers and TV news.
