Course Description

This course covers public libraries under TOSHOKANHO (the Library Act) and the understanding of management and marketing of organizations, taking into account a variety of libraries across types of libraries. You will learn about various laws, regulations, and standards related to libraries, the mission, goals, and evaluation methods of libraries, and acquire basic knowledge about the planning and management of library activities. You will read assigned literature, participate in in-class group discussions, and conduct and present research and analysis of a specific library through group work.
